1The service

Feelings Buddy (formerly Grief Buddy) is a web app that runs AI-guided sessions built for working through feelings, with self-compassion, toward self-acceptance and self-motivation, with a path forward when you want one. It is operated by Thomson Business Group Inc., a company in Ontario, Canada. It is not therapy, counselling, medical care or a crisis service. Research reports summarise published research about what came up in a session, and they are not medical, psychological or legal advice.

2Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and live in Canada, outside Quebec. You are responsible for keeping your password private.

3Subscription and payment

Your first session is free, with no card. It needs a confirmed email address, and there is one free session per email address: a new account with the same address does not get another. A free session pauses at a length set for free sessions, and you can still save its report. Research reports are for members.

A subscription costs CAD 19 every 30 days, plus applicable taxes, and includes up to 10 sessions in any 30 days. A session has no time or message limit. To prevent abuse, a session pauses if its use goes far beyond any ordinary conversation; you can still save its report and start a new session. Use across your sessions also has a fair-use limit in any 30 days. If you reach it, sessions pause until enough of that use is more than 30 days old; the session in which you reach it can finish, and your saved reports stay available. Stripe processes payment. The subscription renews every 30 days until you cancel.

When the 30 days you paid for end, because you cancelled or a renewal payment failed, you can no longer start sessions. You keep full access to your saved reports. Subscribing again lets you start sessions again.

4How you agree

You accept these terms in the app, by ticking the box before you subscribe. After you pay, we email you a copy of the agreement, with a link to these terms at https://feelingsbuddy.app/terms.

5Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the 30-day period you have already paid for. The subscription then ends and you are not charged again.

6Refunds

You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the 30 days you paid for. We do not give refunds, including for part of a 30-day period, except where the law of your province requires one.

7Acceptable use

Do not use Feelings Buddy to harm yourself or anyone else, to break the law, or to attempt to access other people's data.

8Safety

If anything you write suggests you may not be safe, Feelings Buddy is instructed to ask you plainly, or to stop the session's exercises, say it is concerned and show crisis lines. It is an AI model and can miss the signs. If you are in crisis, do not wait for it: in Canada, call or text 9-8-8; in the United States, call or text 988; for immediate danger, call 911. In Nunavut, which has no 911 service, call your local RCMP line: the first three digits of the local phone number where you are, not the 867 area code, then 1111 (in Iqaluit, 979-1111). Feelings Buddy cannot contact anyone on your behalf and cannot confirm your location.

9Changes and ending the service

We may change these terms or the service. We will show the date of the latest change on this page.
